SUMMARY

Release Date: 31.8.2009

Timothy D & The Trogloxenes - the core of the band is made up of Timothy Wells, Thomas Gardner and Antony Truckwell.

Brought up in Niton on the Isle of Wight, the band have been best of friends since before primary school. Growing up together, music also became an experience they could share.

Thomas began by playing drums, quickly moving onto other instruments, after seemingly disappearing into his room for two years emerging as a multi-instumental maestro.

Antony, having started with cello lessons in early middle school, also developed musically moving onto become a very creative lead guitarist. A gifting that also spread onto bass guitar, other stringed instruments and drums, capped off by his wonderful singing voice.

In high school this group, Timothy, Thomas and Antony, alongwith two others, Caine and John Entwistle, formed a band called No Atlas . This band was to front the group's talents, playing gigs and recording tracks, for the two years succeeding high school.

Timothy then left to studio at university whilst Thomas and Antony stayed on 'the Isle' to push their own music agenda through their other band The Motion Pictures on the 1965 label

On the Find Your Voice album there are contributions from other 'Torgloxenes' such as Patience Wells, Timothy's older sister, who Timothy has played music with for many years, both at their local Methodist Church and around the old piano in their front room. Other credits on the album include the other members of No Atlas, Chloe Alred, New Frontiers Church Exeter and various other loved ones from the Isle of Wight.

'Find Your Voice':

(words by Timothy D)

This album of music was born from a group of friends. As this group of friends we always had some sort of musical venture on the go - 'Find Your Voice' was one of these projects.

In the years 2006-07 I was in Exeter working for New Frontiers Church as a volunteer and during that time I had the opportunity to record this album. I have been playing guitar and writing songs since the age of 15, and these songs on the album are a selection of some that had accumulated since then.

Because of my own lack of musicianship, I knew from the start that I was going to require help in making this album sound anywhere close to what I wanted it to. So, I asked Thomas and Antony to be a part of it which to my joy and apprreciation they agreed.

Another person who has been a massive influence on the album is Matt Roe. I met Matt during my time at Exeter and became good friends with him. When I mentioned to Matt that I wanted to record this album he said that he would lend his expertise. I was over the moon and, I expected him to arrive on the Isle of Wight with a couple of microphones tucked under his arm, however he pulled into my drive with his car rammed to bursting with the craziest equipment I'd ever seen!. This CD has a great deal to do with the dedication of Matthew Roe and his Digitek (portable) studio. The funding for the production of the CD came from loved ones and the Methodist Church, Niton, Isle of Wight - they deserve a special mention and have been so generous. This project was accomplished by many under the banner of Christ.

The album itself is about crying out to God - something that I commonly have to do. It talks about my personal walk with God in that respect. It is also trying to relay the moment of knowing a need for God, crying out to Christ Jesus and having a glimmer of His glory. The Trogloxenes are cave dwellers who realise their need for the light and the sustenance it provides. The artwork, designed by my sister, shows the Trogloxenes climbing out from their darkness into the light crying 'Love Divine, Oh I, I need Your love divine'. The album tries to express this initial stage of a relationship with the one true God and Saviour Jesus Christ and exclaims that we all need to get to the place where we call on His name.
